I'm not certain if this is what fixed it, but I noticed a setting under the BOINC Screensaver Settings menu for "Blank screensaver after:" was set to Never. And maybe updating video drivers would help, or disabling other programs. There were other methods that I have forgotten, but I think that one of them might have been getting it to work first in an Admin account, and then switching over to a User account. Then I could lengthen it to longer intervals (10 minutes or more) and it would continue to work. One of my tricks was to set the timeout to a short interval (e.g.

I have not had problems with Win7 64-bit and BOINC, but back in my WinXP days I would sometimes have a problem with sleep.
